Have you ever had these questions?
- What process should I follow if one of my family members asks me to help with a serious problem in their life?
- I know a lot of things about the Bible and the gospel, but how do I use those eternal truths to help someone grow in their walk with God?
- If a friend was needing counsel to make a significant decision, what Scriptures would I point him to that would help him discern God’s will?
- Do the Scriptures provide any principles and a process for resolving conflict between friends?
- If my close friend has step-children, does the Bible have any principles and instruction that would help his family become united and God-honoring?
These and many other questions will be addressed and answered using Scripture at the first annual Spring Advanced Training Class hosted by The Biblical Counseling and Discipleship Association of Southern California (BCDASoCal).
If you completed the initial 30 hour training hosted by BCDASoCal in the Fall of 2011 or its equivalent (attended in person or listened online), then you are qualified to attend the 8 sessions of the Spring Advanced Training Class which begins on Sunday, February 26th. Pastor Bruce, Will the initial Biblival Counseling Class be offered again?
Blessings,
Karyn
Yes. The Fall 2012 Conference will be held at Compass Bible Church in Aliso Viejo, CA on these 3 weekends:
Week 1: September 14-15
Week 2: October 12-13
Week 3: November 9-10
The Fall Conference will return to a location closer to the SF Valley in 2013. At the 2012 Conference we will have 2 tracks:
* 1st Track: Repeat last year’s basic track (NANC Certification track)
* 2nd Track: New topics and speakers — that are still to be determined — for those who are returning participants. Note: each year the 2nd track will be different.
Pastor Bruce – can one take this advanced class without taking the earlier basic class? I thought I heard you could listen to the tape on the first class? Is that correct?
Thank you for the information!
Yes, you can attend the Advanced Training Class as long as the prerequisites are satisfied; either:
1. attend at the Fall 2011 Conference or an equivalent basic training
2. listen to the 30 sessions online @ http://bcdasocal.org/resources/sermon-player
I hope that helps, Karyn
The Biblical Counseling classes are wonderful. I highly recommend them to everyone.
