Dear Friends,
Language Learning
The month of May was another big stride forward for us in learning Italian. Susanna spent the entire month studying Italian at the University for Foreigners while I took care of the children. The class was able to both solidify previously studied concepts and introduce new ones. She got the highest score of the class on her final exam! By God’s grace, our family made it with me running things at home. On more than one occasion after eating a meal I had prepared the kids said, “Dad, can we NOT have that again? Please pray for wisdom as we seek the best plan for the summer months.
Ministry
This last Sunday also marked a huge milestone in the life of our church as 10 people were baptized, all recent converts. God was truly glorified as powerful testimony of His saving grace was given time and time again through these 10 brothers and sisters in Christ. I wish I could share all of their testimonies with you. I was particularly struck by the testimony of a man whose wife was saved nearly 25 years ago. In this time frame, he has come to church, week after week, he has watched his wife and children all be baptized, but he himself remained hard hearted. However, God has saved him recently and just this last Sunday he gave public testimony of his faith in Christ and desire to serve him in the local church. I was particularly impressed by the faithfulness of God to answer the prayers of those who have prayed for so long for his salvation. May we always be encouraged to pray to the very end for our unbelieving friends and family members, though they may seem indifferent to the gospel.
Another reason to praise God is for the recent profession of faith made by one of the African refugees we’ve written about. Please pray for the Lord to help him grow in Christ. Please pray for us to be able to disciple him as his Italian is not that great. He speaks French, making discipleship difficult since it requires the time of not only me but also a translator. Ideally, it would be great to have a French speaker disciple him.
Thank you to all who faithfully stand by us in prayer and financial support.
By His Grace,
Massimo for Susanna, Alessandro, Eliana, Gianluca, Giuliano Mollica
